Deer Park, Rose Garden & Hauz Khas Lake for Hiking and Birding

The lake is a 14th century water reservoir which has now been converted into a park area. Central to this area is the artificial Hauz Khas Lake. The lake is teeming with a number of resident waders.

Highlights
  • During winters several migratory birds from as far as Siberia make the Hauz Khas lake their nesting grounds.
  • In addition to the waders, there are a number of other species like Coppersmith Barbets, Kingfishers, Bulbuls, Mynas, Koels, Shikras and the like which live in this area.
  • The Hauz Khas lake walk is combined with deer park and rose garden.
