What makes Indore special is the\u00a0local food\u00a0specific only to Indore. Indore has something in store for every foodie. Be it sweets or \u2018namkeen\u2019 or \u2018chaat\u2019 or Mughlai food, there is something for all your taste buds. \u2018Sarafa Bazaar\u2019 and \u2018Chappan Bhog chowk\u2019 are the must visit places for every food lover out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here is a list of my personal favourite foods from Indore:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Poha-Jalebi\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Poha is thick flattened rice and is prepared in Indore with onions and fennel seeds. Jalebi is a spiral shaped sweet made from gram flour. The saltiness of Poha and the sweetness of Jalebi make a perfect combination.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bina Tala Samosa\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Samosa is a fried snack filled with potato. Instead of fried, the Indore version is baked making it a healthier and tastier version.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kulfi Falooda\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kulfi is a sweet similar to ice-cream and falooda is a milk preparation with tukmariya (bloated basil seeds) and vermicelli. It provides a wonderful blend of textures.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dahi vadas\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Vadas are made from different flours. It is savory and fried. These vadas are dunked in dahi (yogurt) and eaten with tamarind and chilly chatney.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kachori\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kachoris are round dough balls stuffed with a combination of potatoes, lentils, peas and eaten with chutneys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maawa Baati\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>It is a large Gulab Jamun filled with dried fruits, cardamom, saffron, etc. Gulab Jamun is a sweet made from milk solids and fried in Ghee.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Garadu\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Garadu is a root. Pieces of Garadu are fried like potato chips. These taste awesome with lemon juice and freshly chopped coriander.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Indori Namkeen\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Namkeen are salty snacks. These include lentils, sev made from different flours, etc. These can be found with a plethora of masalas including mint, tomato, lemon, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Alu Tikki\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>These are made from mashed potatoes mixed with chilies, ginger juice, lemon juice and salt and sugar. They are shallow fried and eaten with chutneys or added to chaats.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Indore\u00a0is not only about its monuments, forts and temples.
