On July 7, 1992, Mr. Willy T. Blazer, Vice Counselor and Head of Chancery of Switzerland in India, brought Khajjiar to global attention by naming it “Mini Switzerland.” He also placed a signboard featuring a yellow Swiss hiking trail marker, indicating that Khajjiar is 6194 km away from Berne, the Swiss capital. Khajjiar is one of 160 locations worldwide that resemble Switzerland topographically. The counselor also took a stone from Khajjiar to be part of a stone collage around the Swiss Parliament, serving as a reminder of Khajjiar’s designation as the “Mini Switzerland of India.”

Khajjiar is a unique destination, and it is uncertain how long these breathtaking scenes will remain unchanged. Therefore, packing a good bag and some essentials is all you need to explore this spectacular place.
